After sweeping a doubleheader at Black Hawk the day before, the Carl Sandburg College softball team finished off a four-game series sweep of the Braves on Friday afternoon at the William “Bill” Hungate Baseball/Complex, winning 10-3 and 8-0 in Arrowhead Conference action.

The Chargers (14-22, 10-4) have won seven straight games — including six in a row in Arrowhead play — and nine of their last 10

Key Moment
Trailing 2-1 in the fourth, the Chargers exploded for eight runs to blow the game open. Sandburg sent 12 batters to the plate in the inning, with nine of the first 10 reaching base. The Chargers collected five of their 13 hits in the frame.

Key Moment
The Chargers opened the scoring with a four-run third inning, capped by Malcolm’s two-run double to left.

Sandburg Star of the Game
Stineman picked up her third victory in two days by throwing her first career shutout. The freshman allowed four hits and a walk while striking out one. She needed just 58 pitches (42 strikes) to finish off the complete game.
